The CN Tower isn’t just about the view, the glass floor or the countless other attractions that surround it. The CN Tower is also known for having the World’s Tallest Wine Cellar which is found in the one and only 360 Restaurant.

CN Tower’s 360 is appropriately named. It revolves completely in 360 degrees every 72 minutes. If you’re prone to motion sickness, fear not. The rotation is slow enough that you can enjoy the fantastic views of Toronto without realizing your view is changing every moment. The CN Tower’s 360 is a fine dinning restaurant (reservations recommended) so your party will likely be eating for at least one complete rotation. (more…)

This might seem off topic of the CN Tower in Toronto, but especially if you’re visiting this city, Toronto history is exciting and thorough. Besides being the largest city in all of Canada, it is also the provincial capital of Ontario. Toronto is in fact the 5th largest city in all of North America!

Toronto, formerly known as York, became one of the most popular destinations for immigrants to Canada. Because of this it is now one of the most multicultural cities in North America and has a diverse population and unique history.

As a tourist in Toronto, in addition to the Toronto entertainment district and numerous Toronto tourist attractions, you have the opportunity to experience the history of this great city at many different museums and other buildings.

The New Toronto Historical Society is one of the best websites to go to learn all about the rich history of Toronto before traveling there. My favourite part of this website is the list of Toronto landmarks. Think of places you want to check out then visit this site and see old photos and learn of the buildings’ history.

Not only buildings, but streets themselves in Toronto have their own stories. Some streets with exceptional Toronto history: King Street, Kingston Road and Dundas Street. Hire a tour guide and ask them to show you these places.

You can check out the Toronto Historical Society online.

If you’re visiting Toronto, definitely check out the CN Tower and other hotspots, but take a minute to look around and appreciate the rich history around you! Toronto definitely has a story and it’s still being written.

A quick update to promote a new ride in Downtown Toronto, right inside the CN Tower. Himalamazon, the tower’s latest attraction, is a very cool “motion ridefilm.”

It is eco-aware entertainment at its best. The ride takes the rider through a journey to the future, where mankind is facing huge environmental problems after spending years over-harvesting the world’s trees and forests. This unique ride features special effects - like feeling the wind and water on your face! It’s fun for all ages, and everyone will take something meaningful from this trip to a potential future.

The new ride is only on happening in Toronto, Ontario at the CN Tower. It’s found in the CN Tower arcade with the other latest simulated games. While you’re in the Arcade, kids must check out LEGO Racers, and while you’re in Toronto, enjoy all the other festivals and attractions Ontario’s capital has to offer!

To finish off this post, here is a VERY cool photo of the lighting of the CN Tower by pixel_bunny, “Light-up Toy”

If you frequent cntowerlights.com you’re already familiar with the infamous Dubai building that is stealing the title from the CN Tower. This Wednesday it became “official” that the CN Tower had finally lost one of its famous claims to fame. Canadian news agencies were all over the story, though the newscasts that ran weren’t as grim as one might expect; most were optimistic.

Residents of the Greater Toronto Area have already seen the CN Tower’s claim to fame come at risk many times through the years, from towers that planned to break the 30-year-old record. It’s amazing the CN Tower has held the title as long as it has.

What will change? (more…)

“CN Tower” - Chris J. Kim

By the way, I haven’t personally been up the CN Tower this year, but I was just thinking about the CN Tower Glass Floor today and how scary that really is. I’m not afraid of heights but it took me a lot of nerve to really jump on it. And while you’re staring straight down 1 122 feet, this fact certainly won’t put you at ease: The glass floor is only 2.5 inches thick! If you haven’t been on it yourself, just wait until you do! Something that will put you at ease though, is that the glass floor of the CN Tower is five times stronger than the commercial standard for floors. It can easily hold the weight of fourteen hippos.

Read on for a more photos of the CNTower, Toronto.
